Professional Development

Individual members can benefit greatly by joining the Institution. Those wishing to further their careers and achieve higher academic standards may do by progressing through the range of examinations set by the Institution. The Institution publishes a full and comprehensive syllabus for all examinations and several further education establishments run study courses for each of the examinations. Similarly, where local study are not available, some of the commercial correspondence schools support the examinations and run study courses by mail.

CPD Register

Internationally, the Institution of Fire Engineers supports the concept and practice of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), believing it to be essential to effective performance as a professional, accredited fire engineer or industry operative. To read more about CPD click here.

Fire Engineering Registrants Group (IFERG)

The IFE is a licensed member of the Engineering Council and can register those members that meet the necessary criteria as Chartered Engineers (CEng), Incorporated Engineers (IEng) or Engineering Technicians (EngTech). To read more about IFERG click here.

Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ)

For Professional Fire Safety Engineers applying to practice in the area of fire engineering in Queensland, IFE Australia is now an assessment entity on behalf of the Board of Professional Engineers Queensland (BPEQ). To read more about RPEQ click here.

Engineering Council Registration

The engineering profession in the United Kingdom is regulated by the Engineering Council through engineering institutions that are licensed to put suitably qualified persons on the Engineering Council’s Register of Engineers. To read more about Engineering Council Registration click here.
