Registration as a Professional Engineer of Queensland

IFE Entity Assessment Scheme in the area of Fire Engineering

The IFE Assessment Entity Scheme (hereinafter known as the IFE Scheme) provides assessment of an individuals qualifications, competencies, experience and continuing fire engineering knowledge based on the Engineering Council Division (ECuk) assessment policy and procedures for Professional Engineers applying to practice in the area of fire engineering.

The ECuk scheme is linked to Australian competencies through the Sydney Accord and Washington Accord.

General:

The Institution of Fire Engineers has in excess of 10,000 members in 20 countries who represent a complete cross-section of the fire engineering discipline.

IFE provides professional recognition for fire engineers across a broad spectrum and has achieved recognition from a number of professional bodies, including Engineering Council UK (ECuk) which regulates the engineering profession in the United Kingdom.

IFE is a Licensed Member of ECuk  and is authorised to register suitably qualified members at Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Engineering Technician (EngTech) level.

IFE Australia (ABN 067 481 298) was formed in 1995 and Incorporated in 1998 IFE Australia is registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.

IFE Australia provides the following support services- Administers applications; and

Administers the membership at large in Australia; and Manages any formal complaints against any member; and Organises examinations to assess the competency level of applicants; and Provides continuing professional development through technical magazines, seminars, events, and annual conferences.

This is a joint project between Fire Check Consultants and The Institution of Fire Engineers Australia and is hosted on the Fire Check Server.

To be eligible for listing on this web site, an individual must present the following:

* Suitable evidence to IFE management committee of training & experience in the competency level applied for.
* Evidence of continuing professional development in the competency level applied for.
* Evidence of adequate insurance cover.
* Must be a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers.

Individuals must re-apply for listing annually.
